1954 – A Queen for Richard

Our beautiful queen was a vision in silver and white and Richard’s admiration was matched by each loyal subject of his court. Her regal gown was designed with an accordion pleated chiffon bodice, accented with rhinestones and she wore a pendant of pear shaped diamonds surrounded by pearls on the deep jeweled neckline. The bell shaped brocade silver lame skirt, which fell into a slight train, was overlaid with an accordion pleated chiffon sunburst and it scintillated with designs of pearls and rhinestones. Curved panels of silver lame, with scrolls of silver sequins and appliqués of precious diamonds in delicate designs, partially encircled the royal train of white velvet. Myriads of silver scrolls, studded with diamonds were scattered over it. A dramatic five gored panel of silver lame formed the tip of her sweeping train and the snowflake patterns, glittering with diamonds, rose to a point on the white velvet where a magnificent medallion of blinding brilliance dominated the creation. Precious gems were woven delicately over the white velvet to complement this design of pearls and diamonds. The regal train fell gracefully from our queen’s minute waist, joining the five panel collar of gem dusted gossamer sheerness that framed her golden jeweled braids. These were tucked into the deep red velvet accented V-neck of her bodice. A wide jeweled girdle of precious stones encircled the gown, forming a blazing band at the back of the mantle. Shoulder high white kid gloves and jeweled white slippers completed her exquisite coronation robes.
