1955 – A Crusader's Dream Garden

Over his coat of mail fashioned of glistening sequin cloth, Richard wears a white velvet tunic, romantically lined in the same rich blue satin as that of the royal mantle belonging to his beloved Berengaria. A crimson red velvet triangle rises from the waist to the throat, edged in deep rows of rhinestones and square-cut amber jewels, and centered with three golden lions of blinding brilliance. Around his shoulders swings a white velvet cape lavishly embroidered, as is the tunic. Blazing across the back of this, three more lions in gold rise majestically from the blazing red velvet coat-of-arms of Richard Coeur de Lion. His noble head holds a closely fitted helmet of blue sequin cloth, and resting on this is the circular, flat-topped hat of his period, designed of gleaming sliver and luxuriously encrusted with semi-precious jewels of various hues. High silver boots with jeweled spurs and white doeskin gauntlets, with cuffs of matching jeweled silver, cast glistening shadows as he walks out of his beautiful dream garden with his lovely queen.

Queen Berengaria is robed in a magnificent gown of white satin moulded with a romantically deep rounded neckline luxuriously defined with glittering jewels, which cascade into a sunburst of graceful designs down the center of her bodice. The rich fullness of the skirt, falling from her petite waist in three tiers of deep scallops, shimmers with jewels which nestle in soft white ostrich feathers. Radiant patterns of rhinestone medallions and silver bugle beads in graduated sizes flash in glorious splendor around it. Her majestic mantle of white velvet lined in heavenly blue satin, elaborately banded with three rows of shimmering ciel blue gems surmounted with semi-precious stones in tawny pastel shades, and dominates the center. Diamond sun rays burst from its edges in flashing arcs. Her delicate transparent collar, fashioned with rolled jeweled edges and heavily woven with rhinestones, bugle beads and semi-precious stones, rises from the mantle to form a frame for her petite face. Long white kid gloves, white satin slippers, diamond earrings and bracelet complement her magnificent regal robes.
