As our majestic King Richard Coeur de Lion IX walks through his garden, he is brilliantly garbed in a
crimson mantle heavily encrusted with priceless jewels and lavishly trimmed with ermine. The Maltese
cross hangs from his neck on a heavy gold chain. Attached to his is a large medallion circled with pearls
set in gold filigree and centered with the enameled seal of the Royal Order of the Troubadours. The shoulder
yoke of gold cloth, which is heavily jewel-encrusted, sweeps down the back of the mantle in a widening panel
and forms a band at the bottom. Large shields feature three couchant lions with gold bugle bead heads on bodies
paved with large aurora stones. The mantle is clasped at the waist with a gold belt solidly mounted with semi-precious stones.
The beautiful Queen Berengaria IX wears a regal mantle of vibrant red velvet and ermine. The theme of the ball
is emphasized by the dazzling jeweled ballerinas and musical symbols that blaze across the expanse of her mantle.
The full sweep of the mantle is bordered with a wide band of white ermine. The Elizabethan collar that rises above
the mantle frames her Majesty’s face with jewels and fur. The candlelight peau de soie gown features the princess
silhouette beneath a sweetheart neckline. The bouffant skirt is outlined in ermine and a twenty-seven inch jeweled
ballerina lights the front panel. The bodice is heavily embroidered in jeweled motifs. A diamond and pearl necklace,
matching earrings and wide diamond bracelets add brilliant elegance. Long white gloves and candlelight satin slippers
complete the royal attire.
