Avalon was an island in the middle of a great lake located in the southern part of England. The island was completely
obscured by a shroud of deep fog. Legend has it that Avalon was the home of Druid priestesses particularly Vivienne, the
Lady of the Lake. The Druids, who occupied the British Isles long before the Saxons arrived, believed that the priestesses
of Avalon through their guidance and intervention protected the earth and everything upon it.
Vivienne was the daughter of Merlin the magician and the mother of Lancelot a future knight of the
round table in Camelot. She served as the High Priestess of Avalon and with her sisters protected the earth,
the trees, the wind, the rain and the bounty of the harvest. No mortal being was ever allowed to enter or even see the
island of Avalon. Only Merlin could move freely from the island in the mist to the outside world.
It is here that our story begins with a journey by our monarch Richard into the deepest parts of the forest in search
of Avalon. As Richard approaches the great lake, he recalls the legend of Avalon and believes he can hear the priestess
of Avalon calling to him. Suddenly the mist is lifted and Richard could actually see the island and in the distance the
Lady of the Lake and Merlin the Magnificent.
